This week the brand new Sea Monsters collection has been released and KW says the Paisley Whale print was a hot pick this weekend. The Harmony dress is truly a lovely outfit for a summer hot date!

[ShoeRack] My First Opening Ceremony

It’s “Final Reductions” everywhere in town this week, so I couldn’t find a reason not to go shopping… oh well, more like a treasure hunting.  After few hours hunt, I’ve found my gold at ShoeSpace in Admiralty. Here it is, my very first pair of Opening Ceremony.

Opening Ceremony Sandals

The brand was established in 2002 by Carol Lim & Humberto Leon in NYC. With zero branch in Hong Kong, the brand is available in Lane Crawford stores.

[Lifestyle] Sunday is a blogging day

On a hot and stuff Sunday, the best thing to do is to stay home, watch tele & surf the net. Today is a special day, not only it’s my mother’s birthday (Happy Birthday, Mom!!), it’s also the day I make up my mind to start blogging again.

I used to write blog everyday… recording my everyday move, my disastrous love stories, all the delicious food and lovely wine I savored, the wonderful and nasty people I met and the new items to my wardrobe/shoerack. It’s real great to have somewhere to keep all the good and bad memories which one can recollect the flavor of them after some time.

Thanks to Sarah for treating me and my family a lovely lunch to celebrate mom’s birthday! Sushi Hiro, a popular Japanese sushi restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui, serves super fresh sashimi. We ordered lunch sets and they were in real big portions. None of us were able to finish all our food except dad (that’s why he keeps on gaining weights and his belly looks like a pumpkin now…).

[Art] An exhibition of Alice in Wonderland at Tate Liverpool

An exhibition at Tate Liverpool is celebrating Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and the influence it has had on subsequent generations of visual artists. It includes the manuscript for the original story, which was originally written as a private gift for Carroll to 12-year-old Alice Liddell in 1864.

American Surrealist Dorothea Tanning, the wife of artist Max Ernst, painted Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music) in 1943.

US pop artist John Wesley used characters from the books for Falling Alice (left) and Humpty Dumpty in 1963. The exhibition opens on Friday and runs until 29 January.

Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (right), who went by the pen name Lewis Carroll, came up with the story of Alice and her trip to a fantasy world while on a boat trip with the real Alice and her family in Oxford in 1862. The exhibition includes photos of Liddell taken by Carroll, such as the one on the left, taken in 1858.

Pop artist Sir Peter Blake is among those who have used the stories for inspiration in subsequent years. Sir Peter said he was captivated by the "magical realism" of the stories and aimed to capture "the sense of living one's life through other characters".

The books Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass became huge successes by the end of the 19th Century, with spin-off gifts manufactured including board games and card games, dolls and figurines and slides for magic lantern shows (pictured).

Carroll was persuaded to publish the story and approached the artist John Tenniel, known for his cartoons for the magazine Punch, to provide the illustrations. The first book was published in 1865.
